Little Baby Smith

Well, it was an emotional day as we buried baby Smith but it feels so good to have done so. I feel a great sense of closure from our hard past few weeks and the feeling that it's okay to move forward now. All I know is that we will certainly miss meeting this little baby but I do believe in God's plan for our family.

Evie and I decorated the cross Joel made. Evie asked if she could write the babies name on the cross. I asked her what the babies name is and she said 'Alex'. I asked her if that was a boy or a girl and she said 'a girl, no, a boy, no a girl, mom, I don't know".

Evie and Ethan were so cute. They kept the moment lighter, which was needed. Evie is sooo girl, she was happy to pick flowers and Ethan is sooo boy, he saw the cross and said 'sword'.

Evie and Ethan decorated the ground beautifully.

It was pretty emotional, as you would imagine. Joel is taking a minute. It's one of those visions that will be in my thoughts for a long time.

Joel was very specific about the location. He had seen it before and took us right to it. It was a pretty afternoon. It was raining off in the distance but their was a lot of sun in the valley.

Our dear unborn baby Smith. 10 1/2 weeks old. We will certainly miss you. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. We pray you bring our family closer to God.
