First Snow

The kids woke up to their first snow of the year over the weekend. They quickly got dressed and grabbed containers to collect snow and headed outside.

It wasn't much of a snow but nonetheless, exciting. It was chilly outside. I think it was only about 7:30am or so. They didn't stay outside long. Maybe only as long as it took to dress them.

The kids like eating snow. We added a little food coloring for fun. Ethan chose green.

Evie went for yellow. I need to get a few spray bottles to fill it with food coloring for the next time it snows so the kids can make the yard a big rainbow.

Claudia's 5th birthday party

Hard to believe Claudia is turning 5 years old. She and Evie are only a few weeks apart. Mandy had her birthday party at Solid Rock Gym. Claudia is taking gymnastics classes there. They also have a few hour window on Friday mornings during the school year that is open to the public so Joel takes the kids on occasion. The kids love jumping into big foam pits, doing the zip line and bouncing non stop for hours.

Ethan swinging and dropping into a foam pit.

balancing on a beam and jumping into a foam pit

And there is fun for adults too..

Ethan and Joe Finder. Joe takes such good care of Ethan. They are cute little buddies.

The kids gathered before cake time - it was cute to see Ethan and Joe snuggling up

Cheese. So this group of kids are only Claudia's cousins and maybe someday step-brothers and sister. It was quite the party.

All of these cousins waiting for cake and ice cream...the birthday girl is all the way at the end of the table

Happy 5th birthday Claudia - thanks for the fun party

Mandy, Bob, Joel, Hunter and yummy cake

Clare and her missing two front teeth

After cake and presents the kids got to play for a few more minutes.

We sang happy birthday to Claudia as she zip lined while everyone threw foam blocks at her...then everyone jumped into the foam pit below. Wish we had one of these at home.

Evie's party at school

Evie was excited to have a Halloween party at school...and wear her costume to class.

This is Evie's best friend Aurora. She looks a bit stunned here but she really is a sweet girl. I'm happy she and Evie are friends.

When I picked Evie up from school she was in a fantastic mood. She wanted to run in the tall grass along the sidewalk...
...occasionally falling. But she would get up and keep running.

Boo at the Zoo

We met up with the Tabors and the Clarks for Boo at the Zoo. The kids were excited of course to get lots and lots of candy.

Evie - not afraid to give this big dog a hug.

Evie was chatting it up with this lady hanging out on this bench dressed as a scarecrow.

Oh....Evie's in heaven. Evie is a huge fan of the movie the Wizard of OZ. She loves dressing like Dorothy. I think mostly it's because she can wear shiny red shoes and carry around a puppy in a basket.

Just by coincidence, Clare, Evie and Delphina all had the same idea for costumes
