Tubing in the canal

Yippee, we finally arrived at the Smith house (Sunshine Ranch). On our way up the driveway to the house we noticed that the water was running through the canal that goes under the driveway. It's not often that it runs and when it does it may only be for a day or two so we quickly got suited up, grabbed inner tubes and headed to the canal. This is a view from the bottom of the mile long driveway looking toward the house.

Joel rescued this struggling moth from the water

Joel, testing the water for the first time. It was freezing. He could hardly sit down. We got used to it quickly though.

Joel is heading down the driveway to drop Evie off in the water so she could have a longer ride.

Needless to say Evie loved it. Ethan didn't like the cold water and didn't want to sit on our laps as we floated. He just wanted to watch and throw sticks and rocks into the water.

(the pictures are out of order) This is Evie and Joel coming out of the culvert under the driveway. I was surprised that Evie wasn't nervous - the water was moving pretty quickly through it.

This is Evie and Joel going into the culvert

Ethan loved throwing rocks and making big splashes...

Finding the perfect rock...

  2. It's nice to see Carrie in the pictures instead of never seeing her because she's always taking them. Joel-you need to work on more of that. HA HA
